Platoon Commander at Drakenstein Municipality

JOB PURPOSE:

• To perform various supervisory, administrative and technical tasks associated with emergency service delivery, fire station management, operations and maintenance, fire and life safety and training to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient emergency services to save lives and property as far as possible in terms of the Fire Brigade Services Act (99 of 1987).

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

• Grade 12
• Senior Firefighting Certificate/ Higher certificate

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Knowledge of Hazmat operations
• Training and presentation skills
• Management and supervision skills
• Code C/EC1 Driver’s license
• Good human relations, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to give attention to detail
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (2 of the official languages)

EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years relevant experience
