About The Role
Responsibilities
As part of a globally distributed and growing team, the POC Engineer will support field sales engineers in Europe, Germany, South Africa and Dubai but will report to the Director of Sales Engineering in South Africa. The POC Engineer’s job is to manage pre-sales technical evaluations of the Mimecast service. Day-to-day activities include scoping, implementation, technical support, threat research and presenting evaluation results to prospects.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and professional individual with deep technical understanding of Mimecast’s service and a willingness to learn new skills such as messaging security, presentation skills and solution-selling.

Key Responsibilities
As a POC Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Product Evaluations - Provide guidance to our Customers, Partners and Resellers during the connect process while ensuring best practices are adhered to when configuring all applicable services and policies through email and phone correspondence.

• Messaging Security Analysis - Confirm, remediate and follow up with customers in response to security, spam, and phishing attacks. Engage MSOC (Mimecast Security Operations Center) when necessary and work together to produce a “risk assessment” and assist in presenting this report to the customer when the evaluation is complete

• Product Feedback - Interfacing with product management, marketing, business development and training to help ensure the Mimecast solution meets the needs of customers and prospects. Giving feedback on product features and functionality, marketing positioning and competitive differentiation.

• Process Management – Monitor and consult on active POCs in your region and engage appropriate personnel from support, professional services, product and sales engineering teams where necessary to ensure a smooth customer experience during the evaluation. Communicate relevant POC product enhancements to your regional sales engineer team members and lead quarterly training initiatives to drive better POC execution in your region

• Great oral and written communication skills in order to work closely with both office-based and remote team members, as well as customers
• Familiarity with networking and security technologies and services
• Technical support background and prior knowledge of Miemcast products and services a plus
