KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Basic operation of multiple types of packaging equipment
• Packs manufactured products according to prescribed SOP's / documentation and packing instructions,
• Responsible prepare packaging for production
• Pack and strap pallets according to item specific packaging instruction, and transfer to production location
• Continuously conducts in process visual quality checks to monitor the quality of product,
• Verification of the article weights and units count per packaging unit as per SOP,
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records,
• Conducts line clearance and cleans production packing lines and equipment according to laid down procedures,
• Responsible for excellent housekeeping and following health and safety instructions,
• Responsible for reporting potential Food Safety hazards and comply to the food safety management system requirements,
• Work under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor to perform and complete the assigned duties.
• Correct identification (labelling) of product cartons
• Housekeeping and cleaning around area of responsibility.

Based on the Business Process Management (BPM) processes the job holder is responsible for:

S6 (Assure product conformity)

• S6.3 Responsible to comply with all Hygiene requirements in the plant.
• S6.2 Support complaint handling by reporting all identified non-conformities and support in the implementation of effective corrective actions determined by the process owner, when needed.

S10 (Ensure occupational health, safety and environment)

• Ensure that HSE compliance in own area of responsibility.
• Report any incident or unsafe conditions seen in the plant/ work area.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• High cleanliness standards for the machines and work area
• Strong attention to detail
• Willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 kg, push/pull 100kg to 350kg and may be required to stand for long hours,
• Possess strong organizational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team,
• Ability to speak, read and write in English
