    Guest Services

    • Often the first hello and the last farewell, our Guest Services teams are the gatekeepers of the Belmond experience. Their commitment to going above-and-beyond ensures a stay that is incomparable. If you are a service-orientated, guest-focused hospitality professional, then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Porter to join the team.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure the department meets the required Leading Quality Assurance standards.
    • To conduct all duties in accordance with hotel standards.
    • Be knowledgeable on all hotel services, hours of operation, key personnel, hotel policies, etc. in order to assist guests with queries.
    • Keep management well informed of any guest’s concerns and complaints, and action taken.
    • Maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with guests, employees and outside contacts.
    • Assist with valet parking.
    • Ensure that all bags are properly tagged and get to the guest room timeously.
    • Deliver messages and communication for guests timeously.
    • Ensure you follow the hotel standards to have guest’s luggage in the guest rooms as soon as possible.
    • Assist with other departmental and hotel duties as assigned by Management occasionally or on a daily basis.
    • Maintain all Front of House areas in an orderly manner – general upkeep of the work area, which includes back of house store room, the port cochere and surrounding area to entrance (benches, trash cans and pot plants etc.)
    • Maintain and upkeep of departmental equipment – trolleys, umbrellas etc which includes polishing of trolleys.
    • Assist with collecting/purchasing guest requests for items that may need to be purchased off site.
    • Assist with rooming of guests as and when required.
    • Assist Front Office with the welcome drinks (serving and replenishing).

    Requirements

    • Previous hospitality background advantageous.
    • Team orientated.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.
    • A decent degree of physical strength is required in order to carry luggage, as is an interest in helping people and providing excellent service at all times.
    • Valid drivers/PDP licence
