Principal Clerk (Liaison) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To receive and process applications for service connections.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Receipt of all applications and related documents in connection with electricity services,and processing same.
• Dealing with enquiries from customers in respect of reconnections /disconnections.
• Filing of applications and contracts etc.
• Checking on stock levels of prepaid meter swipe cards.
• Obtaining required customer details for planning purposes.
• Obtaining and capturing of co-ordinates of locations.
• Liaise with and attend to customer queries and direct them at the reception/information counter when required.
• Responsible for obtaining outstanding certificates of compliance from customers as directed.
• Responsible for follow up on instruction to repair for non-electrical work, resolve address changes for Housing projects and to act as a queue marshal over peak periods at front counters.

Essential Requirements    

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Valid motor vehicle drivers licence (Code B or EB)
• Must be able to speak isiZulu and English fluently.
• 12 Months relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.
