Job Purpose    

• To receive and process applications for service connections.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Receipt of all applications and related documents in connection with electricity services,and processing same.
• Dealing with enquiries from customers in respect of reconnections /disconnections.
• Filing of applications and contracts etc.
• Checking on stock levels of prepaid meter swipe cards.
• Obtaining required customer details for planning purposes.
• Obtaining and capturing of co-ordinates of locations.
• Liaise with and attend to customer queries and direct them at the reception/information counter when required.
• Responsible for obtaining outstanding certificates of compliance from customers as directed.
• Responsible for follow up on instruction to repair for non-electrical work, resolve address changes for Housing projects and to act as a queue marshal over peak periods at front counters.

Essential Requirements    

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Valid motor vehicle drivers licence (Code B or EB)
• Must be able to speak isiZulu and English fluently.
• 12 Months relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Job Purpose    

• To provide assistance to Artisans: Plater/Welder and Handymen with their tasks.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Clean, lubricate and preserve machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, workshop and yard area.
• Remove rust and general cleaning of parts and/or equipment.
• Portage of Artisan and Handymen tools, materials and equipment to and from stores, vehicles, workshops and/or worksites and safe keeping thereof.
• Liaise messages to Supervisors, Handymen, Artisans, Mechanical Assistants in either writing or verbally.
• Provide general physical assistance, support and labouring duties to Handymen, Artisans,
• Supervisors, fellow General Assistants.
• Act and work in an efficient and safety concious manner in accordance with all safety rules, practices and requirements.
• Undertake the correct operation of hand power tools under the discretion of the Artisan,
• Handyman and Supervisor.
• Assist with the loading/positioning of materials and jigs etc on machinery.
• Responsible for the connection/disconnection of hoses, torches and gauges and safe handling and storage of gas bottles.
• Demarcate work areas and perform traffic control.

Essential Requirements    

• An appropriate level of primary education.
• 1 Month relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• An appropriate level of secondary education.
• 3 Months relevant experience.

• To plan,co-ordinate and facilitate Business and Labour Sector HIV and AIDS activities in the eThekwini Municipal Area. 

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Mobilizes and co-ordinates projects and partnerships with business and labour sector against HIV/AIDS.
• Facilitates access to HIV/AIDS resources and information.
• Organises Business and Labour Sector HIV/AIDS empowerment workshops.
• Improving knowledge and skills.
• Establishes business and labour sector.
• Maintains administrative functions.
• Planning implementing and evaluation HIV/AIDS intervention plans and programmes.

Essential Requirements    

• Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license. 
• 3 Years relevant experience.

Job Purpose    

• Undertakes and performs life guarding duties at designated beaches in the eThekwini area through established team efforts by utilising skills and knowledge to maintain the safety of the public in terms of accepted standards and procedures.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Performs lifeguard duties at any designated beach.
• Assists with the administration and supervision of the beach.
• Assists with Power Craft (IRB/Jet Ski) operations.
• Complies with all training requirements.
• Upholds the professional image of the Aquatic Safety Service.

Essential Requirements    

• An appropriate level of secondary education.
• Lifeguard Award or equivalent with a valid retest.
• Valid Level 2 First Aid certificate or have obtained one within 6 months of appointment.
• 12 months duties with a voluntary Surf Lifesaving Club and/or have worked one holiday
• season as a temporary/seasonal Lifeguard.
• Operation of two way radios.

Preferred Requirements    

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Valid motor vehicle driver’s licence (Code EB)
• Valid Motor Cycle License (Code A).
• 18 Months relevant experience.
