    Principal Sales Engineer

    • Our Principal Sales Engineer position is an elevated sales engineering role that combines consultative selling methodologies with high level technical engagement.
    • The role requires broad industry knowledge across multiple disciplines in cybersecurity and network infrastructure.
    • As an individual contributor you will work in a highly collaborative team. The successful candidate will be comfortable owning detailed technical requirements analysis and be comfortable with senior stakeholder influence and management.
    • We are looking for someone to be an enthusiastic, proactive, and energetic senior trusted advisor for senior management in our customer’s organisations.
    • Working closely with our sales team, the candidate will build and maintain strong relationships during the sales cycle, be a passionate contributor to sales success, and navigate both complex technology requirements and practical business outcomes at a tactical and strategic level.
    • The candidate will be a confident and experienced communicator who will represent Mimecast with professionalism. You will be responsible for opportunity strategy, solution positioning and exceptional customer presentations.

    What you'll do

    • Assists sales and partners in the identification and qualification of opportunities.
    • Sets up, execute and report on evaluation events that provide proof of Mimecast's solutions and address customer needs
    • Assists sales in incorporating the results of evaluations into business cases
    • Total ownership of the technical sale of Mimecast products during customer and partner pre-sales activities.
    • Prepare detailed product specifications for the configuration and implementation of customer solutions
    • Ensures appropriate partner or professional services resources are recommended during the solution development.
    • Helps differentiation strategies for products against competitors.
    • Leads technical team in complex sales campaigns.
    • Expert in applying Mimecast strategy and technology to complex customer/partner requirements and opportunities.
    • Contributes to regional sales strategy.
    • Consistently applies consultative selling techniques.
    • Able to  deliver persuasive presentations in formal and large audience settings.
    • Independently delivers sales pitches, technical presentations and whiteboards up to CxO level.
    • Effectively articulates business value of a technical solution to both business and IT stakeholders.
    • Delivers impactful presentations and discussions to large audiences, such as trade shows, conferences and events.

    What you'll bring

    • Experience in customer facing presales/technical consulting
    • Contextual knowledge of public/private cloud infrastructure
    • Experience in the design, implementation and/or administration of cybersecurity tools, including NGFW, DLP, SWG, CASB, CSPM, EDR, XDR, SIEM and/or SOAR
    • Independently delivers compelling sales pitches, technical presentations, and whiteboards up to CxO level.
    • Experience applying strategy and technology to complex customer/partner requirements and opportunities
