Process Sales Engineer Intern at Anderson Engineering

Anderson Engineering is looking to recruit an intern to fill the position of sales and junior process engineer for their business based in Pietermaritzburg. We will take the intern through a 4-year programme that will develop and expose them to engineering concepts unique to our business.

The role and training programme will entail the following:

• Engaging with the design/sales team and customers to develop a workable solution in a Process & Instrument diagram (P&ID) to specifications put forward. The design is to be conducted with considerations to functionality, cost, durability, practicality, lead times, maintenance, standardisation and ease of manufacture.
• Conceptualize and draw the P&ID in 2D Autocad which includes specifying the design data for pumps, instruments, Line Sizes etc
• Calculating of batch sizes, heating/cooling (kWh requirements)
• Analysing and handling of raw materials based on MSDS provided as per project requirements.
• Create design schedules for Design/Costing/Procurement based on the P&ID
• Create electrical specifications and assisting with SOP review.
• Lead HAZOP reviews
• Install and commission processing plants when and if required.
• International and local travel for customer visits
• Compiling accurate quotations for customer
• Calculate detailed costing for various projects and quotations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in chemical engineering (or relevant qualification).
• Experience working with CAD and AutoCAD.
• Technical skills.
• Analytical thinker.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD, Inventor (or similar)) is essential.
• Must have a driver’s licence and own vehicle.
