Procurement and Planning Specialist at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• A leading flavours and fragrances company is looking for an experienced Procurement and Planning Specialist with strong experience in raw material procurement, supplier management, and demand forecasting to join their team in Centurion, Pretoria. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the consistent supply of specialised ingredients, supporting production planning, and managing both local and international supplier relationships within a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain rolling 3-month forecasts in collaboration with operations
• Monitor raw material consumption trends and adjust planning accordingly
• Ensure availability of specialised ingredients in line with production schedules
• Track orders, deliveries, and stock levels continuously
• Consolidate imports to optimise container utilisation
• Source, obtain, and compare supplier pricing
• Build and maintain a reliable supplier base, including alternative suppliers
• Place and follow up on purchase orders in line with planning requirements
• Manage daily consumables and raw material procurement
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers
• Oversee import and freight processes from origin to factory
• Ensure compliance with customs, port health, and regulatory requirements
• Negotiate competitive freight rates

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar environment
• Exposure to flavours, fragrances, chemicals, or specialised raw materials (highly advantageous)
• Strong planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities
• High attention to detail and proactive approach
• Strong communication and supplier negotiation skills
• Experience with ERP or planning systems (preferred)
