    Procurement Manager

    To manage the Pharmed Hospital Division, through the development and implementation of a strategy for the procurement of medicines, medical devices and consumables for hospitals. The job incumbent should ensure client satisfaction, compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements to reduce risk, and achievement of divisional financial ratios.

    Key performance areas:

    • Handle negotiations with suppliers for quality and cost-effective options
    • Ensure agreements are in place and maintain the contracts master file
    • Design and implement formulary and preferred product listing
    • Update and maintain accurate supplier price files
    • Monitor compliance and review with both suppliers and hospital customers
    • Oversee supplier payment process for hospital customers
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both suppliers and hospitals to ensure client retention and revenue growth
    • Deliver on project outcomes to ensure execution within timeframes
    • Manage product importation processes
    • Ensure effective staff management
    • Define and control the budget for division
    • Resolve pricing and product queries from hospitals
    • Update and maintain policies and procedures

    Qualifications required:

    • A pharmaceutical qualification (BPharm/Dip.Pharm)
    • Active Registration with SA Pharmacy Council 

    Skills and experience required:

    • Must have 8 years plus experience in a senior role within a private hospital environment

    Technical Competencies:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of hospital products including medicines, consumables and medical devices
    • Procurement knowledge
    • Project Management skills
    • Budgeting and Cost Management
    • Excellent communication and Negotiation skills
    • Business Acumen
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel, Powerpoint
