Product Design Lead - Payments at Yoco

About the Team

The Product Design function is of significant importance at Yoco and, as such, is growing to match the ambitions of the organization. It is an exciting time with many opportunities to leave a lasting and impactful mark on the broader industry and the world of commerce.

We are looking for an experienced Design Lead to bring deep method to our Payments team working across software and hardware experiences.

ROLE | WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Payments

• Assist in leading the design of our payments ecosystem
• Work with your Design Manager to implement processes that ensure high-quality design from ideation through to production
• Facilitate workshops with cross-functional stakeholders ensuring the relevant input goes into the design work taking place.
• Effectively marry customer needs and usability with business goals and technical constraints
• Working closely with relevant stakeholders, help plan design work in a way that ensures a balance between getting things right and getting them out.
• Work with key collaborators to ensure that the wholistic customer journey is designed for. From acquisition through to when things go wrong and our customer needs support.
• Provide input and guidance, from a heuristics perspective, on our hardware and accessory ecosystem

Design Practice

• Work closely with our Design Systems team and Brand team to ensure consistency and coherence in our experiences.
• Guide and mentor more junior designers in the team
• Be an active contributing member in the design leadership team, furthering the maturity journey of the product design function.

Who are we looking for?

• Someone with extensive (10+ years is a good guide) and diverse experience designing and delivering products in multi-disciplinary teams.
• A skilled demonstrative communicator with experience facilitating design thinking methods in complex organizations.
• You know how to apply systems thinking in way that benefits both our customer and the broader function of product design.
• Deep experience in working with and extending design systems
• You have care and curiosity for people
• You’re not a robot. You understand the rules, but don't follow them for the sake of process and linearity. You bring your whole self to the team
