Product Manager at Old Mutual

• Drive the future development and direction of the proposition.
• Create and maintain the product strategy and roadmap.
• Integrate strategy, customer needs and business direction into communicable, coherent product blueprints.
• Consume and react to customer feedback to continuously improve their experience. Understand customers and their pain points, translating them into solutions
• Leading change - drives the change process forward; maintains momentum and a clear sense of overall purpose and strategic impact of change

Product delivery

• Create feature epics from the product blueprints.
• Communicate product concepts, the roadmap and epics to the team.
• Own and maintain the product backlog.
• Participate in prioritising the product and sprint backlogs.
• Support user acceptance testing and implementation of changes or new applications
• Monitor and react to changes in key metrics/trends.
• Understand the technical debt and prioritise work to pay off the debt
• Responsible for managing development activities of Comarch, the Rewards IT system partner

Business Analysis

• Leads Business Requirement/ Design phases on projects
• Business Analysis planning and monitoring, including measuring progress
• Selects, implements and governs the use of Business Analysis techniques, methodologies and templates
• Elicit and documents requirements including data modelling, interface layouts, data flows, and screen layouts, etc.
• Understand effort between different delivery options and recommend appropriate solutions
• Work with design as a partner and influence UX and UI
• Construct prototypes
• Articulate business logic to technical partners
• Review technical stories and technical logic of changes
• Apply user science tools that strongly influences product direction

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration

• Builds mutually beneficial relationships within the organisation
• Keep stakeholders regularly updated on relevant issues
• Effectively influence the priority of stakeholders to ensure delivery
• Collaborate with the leadership team to get common understanding of the direction, design, and experience of our products.

Team Effectiveness

• Create a climate for optimal performance.
• Build, lead and manage a team of Rewards Business Analysts
• Work closely with systems analyst, developers and project manager to design and implement solutions within constraints.
• Act as mentor to the team and supports an environment of continual improvement
• Work to address aspects of career development of team members
• Work to address team member training and development requirements

Job Requirements

• Degree i n Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing or Economics. An MBA would be an advantage
• Relevant technical training (business analysis, and systems development life cycle)
• Experienced in business and data analysis, solutions design & testing, data modelling .
• Relevant experience as a Product manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst
• Experience in the financial services and/or Loyalty/Rewards industry will be an advantage
• Hands on experience working with developers
• Ability to put ideas on paper in visual form (wire frames)
• Empathy, intellectual curiosity, the ability to synthesize ideas and business acumen.
• Ability to reach objectively good negotiation results, efficiently maintaining relationships
• You are passionate about personal finance and believe in its life-changing possibilities.
• You are keen on working collaboratively with a cross-functional team, using Agile methodologies.
