Production Manager at Pollock & Associates

• An exciting opportunity exists for a Production Manager with proven plastics moulding expertise to lead and optimise operations in a high-volume manufacturing facility. 
• This hands-on leadership role requires residency in Port Elizabeth or nearby areas and extensive experience in injection moulding.
• Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end production efficiency, compliance, and team leadership, ensuring that output, quality, and safety standards are consistently met.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Technical Skills

• Must reside in Port Elizabeth or the surrounding areas
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in injection moulding machine setting and optimisation
• At least 3 years’ supervisory experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
• Technical Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Production, or related field
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; database/reporting systems advantageous
• Understanding of QMS, EMS, ISO 9001:2015, and production KPIs
• South African citizen with a valid Code 08 driver’s licence

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily production operations and workforce across shifts
• Oversee injection moulding processes and ancillary systems to meet performance targets
• Drive compliance with QMS, EMS, and HSE standards; halt production if standards are compromised
• Monitor and improve metrics (scrap% %, cycle time, absenteeism, output)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem-solving and product optimisation
• Maintain documentation, training alignment, and SOP adherence
• Participate in internal and external audits, customer reviews, and production planning
