Production Supervisor at Novus Holdings Ltd

Job Description    

• On the Dot Supply Chain Management (Pty) Ltd, a division of Novus Holdings, seeks to appoint a diligent Production Supervisor in the Operations Department. This position is based in Durban, KZN. The successful incumbent will report into the Loading Bay Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    
Key responsibilities: (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)

• Manage all processing, printing, collation and archiving of operations documentation for Subscriptions, Newspapers and Magazines as well as retail newspapers daily.
• Proactively plan and enforce compliance to deliver a high level of service.
• Managing the operational cost of paper. Reduce printing through improved administrative and time management processes.
• Complete control sheet for signature on collection of Subscription sticky labels and reports.
• Send production data files and completion of documentation to Bulk and Novus print, daily.
• Problems are identified proactively, root causes identified speedily and practical steps are taken to prevent the recurrence of such problems.
• Ensure all printers are serviced on time/regularly and report any printer issues timeously

MEASURE

• Deadlines, service levels and quality standards achieved
• Meet all key performance indicators for all contractor networks
• Responsible for stock handling in distribution and related controls
• Meet financial and cost saving project objectives as agreed to,

Educational Requirements    

• Matric or equivalent

Experience Requirements    

• Previous experience in FMCG;
• Previous inventory experience;
• Retail experience; Media distribution
• Previous experience in managing SLAs and external contractors;

Knowledge

• Knowledge of distribution principles;
• Knowledge of inventory management;
• Valid driver’s license at least code EB;
• Knowledge of operating systems/applications(SAP)
• Basic knowledge of all Microsoft applications
• Proficiency in relevant software packages and applications (SAP, Syspro,)
