    Professional Nurse Coordinator - Cape Town

    Purpose of the position:

    • To coordinate project implementation and reporting, ensuring community households undergo targeted universal testing for Tuberculosis (TB) (TUTT), are linked to preventative or therapeutic TB care at facilities and receive supportive counselling and health education to complete treatment regimens

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree (B. Cur) in Nursing
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
    • 3 years’ experience working in public health care sector
    • Experience working in HAST programme. TB programming will be an advantage
    • NIMART accreditation would be an advantage
    • Clear criminal record
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Fluent in English or any other South African languages
    • Valid Code 8 driver’s license

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Coordinate TB activities in nominated communities and health facilities
    • Works closely with various key stakeholders to implement and achieve the aims of the project
    • Enables the implementation of community and facility-based TUTT
    • Support data collection and data management activities
    • Supports QI activities to promote high quality data collation and data management
    • Coordinates community and facility-based TB care and prevention activities
    • Provides patient-level care as required
    • Supports active TB case finding
    • Promotes and supports Infection prevention and control (IPC) activities
    • Conducts regular monitoring and support site-visits
    • Participates in learning and development opportunities
    • Attends internal/external meetings as required
