Professional Nurse: General – 19 posts (5-month contract)
Salary:
Grade 1: R324 384 – R382 107 per annum (OSD)
Grade 2: R396 132 – R466 623 per annum (OSD)
Grade 3: R476 367 – R610 662 per annum (OSD)
Appropriate salary will be determined according to the regulatory framework (based on OSD).

Requirements:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e., Degree or Diploma in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Proof of current registration with SANC.
Experience:
Grade 1: No experience required.
Grade 2: A minimum of ten (10) years’ appropriate or recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Grade 3: A minimum of twenty (20) years’ appropriate or recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Duties:
Execute nursing duties and functions proficiently within the prescripts of applicable legislation, policies, and regulations.
Provide and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Monitor patient activities and perform standard nursing procedures in line with institutional and professional standards.
Apply a multidisciplinary approach to promote holistic patient and client care.
Maintain clinical competence by applying the scientific principles of nursing care.
Ensure accurate and complete patient record keeping and proper documentation.
Promote client satisfaction through quality service delivery, professional conduct, and adherence to Batho Pele principles and the Patients’ Rights Charter.
Ensure efficient and effective utilisation of resources within the unit.
Render quality nursing care and assume unit management responsibilities in the absence of the Operational Manager.
Evaluate staff performance according to the Employee Performance Management and Development System (EPMDS).
Motivate, coach, and mentor nursing staff to support continuous improvement.
Manage and control scheduled drugs in accordance with legal and institutional requirements.
Be available for day and night duty as required by operational needs.
Perform any other duties as delegated by the supervisor to support service delivery.
