Professional Nurse: General – 19 posts (5-month contract)
Appropriate salary will be determined according to the regulatory framework (based on OSD).

Centre: OR Tambo District
Requirements:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e., Degree or Diploma in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Proof of current registration with SANC.
Experience:
Grade 1: No experience required.
Grade 2: A minimum of ten (10) years’ appropriate or recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Grade 3: A minimum of twenty (20) years’ appropriate or recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Duties:
Execute nursing duties and functions efficiently and professionally within the prescripts of applicable legislation and departmental policies.
Provide and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Monitor patient activities and perform standard nursing procedures in accordance with approved policies and clinical guidelines.
Apply a multidisciplinary approach to promote holistic patient and client care.
Maintain clinical competence by implementing scientific principles of nursing care.
Ensure accurate and complete patient record keeping and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Uphold client satisfaction through quality service delivery, professional nursing practice, and adherence to the Batho Pele principles and Patients’ Rights Charter.
Ensure efficient and effective utilisation of resources within the unit.
Render quality nursing care and assume management responsibilities of the unit in the absence of the Operational Manager.
Evaluate staff performance in line with the Employee Performance Management and Development System (EPMDS).
Motivate, coach, and mentor nursing personnel to promote continuous professional growth.
Manage and control scheduled drugs in accordance with relevant legislation and institutional procedures.
Be available for day and night duties as operationally required.
Perform any other duties as delegated by the supervisor to support effective healthcare service delivery.
