A relevant tertiary degree, supported by specialist qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management
4 - 5 years’ appropriate experience, with demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Acts and Regulations pertaining to OHS
Ability to think independently and to effectively /efficiently organise, analyse ,administer, guide, integrate and implement systems, plans, standards and procedures
Proficient and strong knowledge in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and SharePoint
Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 systems will be an advantage
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively to sites with own transport.
Key Performance Areas
Provide OHS best practice advisory services to allocated operational units
Coordinate, administer, monitor and ensure OHS compliance in terms of legislative requirements, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
Conduct health and safety assessments.
Attend health and safety committee meetings.
Coordinate, develop, draft, improve, implement and maintain procedures, systems and controls.
Facilitate health and safety compliance guidance, inductions, tool box talks and information sessions.
Provide guidance on medical surveillance protocols and assist line management with Occupational Risk Exposure Profiles (OREPs’).
Investigate or be part of all serious case investigation teams (S24/25 at least) and advise that all such investigation reports are uploaded by Line Management onto SAP EHS within 30 days of incident and ensure all the other incidents are followed up.
Monitor and assist sites with hazard/risk identification and risk assessments (HIRA).
Compile Branch monthly reports on performance, recommended action and assistance provided for improvement.
