Keep abreast of emerging industry standards, best practices, industry challenges, upcoming legislation, operational requirements, and technology changes related to the internal audit profession.
Perform internal audit file reviews for conformance with the audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards published by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), within agreed timeframes and budgets.
Identify and articulate thematic root causes, assess the impact, and recommend improvements to address gaps/areas of non-conformance.
Contextualise quality assurance findings and recommendations in relation to wider methodology impact.
Review internal audit and governance committee reports to ensure quality standards are met.
Identify and recommend best practice solutions for improving internal audit processes.
Assist the Professional Practices Manager with operational and reporting activities as required.
Identify opportunities for innovation in the audit methodology and develop practical solutions to implement innovative practices.
Represent GIA Professional Practices and Quality Assurance at appropriate forums as required.
Provide professional advice and guidance on internal audit methodology and other relevant topics to internal audit teams as required.
You will be an ideal candidate if you have:
B.Com. degree / Honours in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Internal Audit.
CIA, or progress towards certification as CCSA, CFSA and/or CISA.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
