    Program Project Manager

    Core purpose of the Job:

    The Accelerate Programme Manager will oversee all the projects and programmes to deliver on the targets as set by the Strategy and Transformation office. This includes Planning, Governance and the oversight of  the successful delivery of outputs in the approved portfolio.

    Context:

    MTN SA launched the Accelerate program as a business-led initiative that aims to secure the growth required for the 2020 budget. The program is made up of 3 discrete groupings of projects that 1.) drive revenue growth, 2.) seek cost efficiencies and 3.) digitally transform business processes and channels. Together these project pipelines are expected to generate the incremental EBITDA required for the FY20 budget with benefits and capabilities that will be realised beyond just the next FY.

    Minimum Requirements: 

    Education

    • Minimum of 3-year degree/diploma in relevant discipline
    • A post-graduate management qualification will be advantages
    • Fluent in English

    Certification in -

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 Practitioner is essential
    • Program Management Professional (PgMP) or equivalent advantageous
    • Agile is essential

    Global Experience Standards:

    The following minimum experience is essential

     Minimum of 10 years’ experience -

    • Minimum 6-8 years' managing projects end to end using PMBOK/PRINCE2 methodologies is essential
    • Minimum 3 years' managing programmes end to end using PMBOK/PRINCE2 methodologies is essential
    • Experience in managing project/programme teams is essential
    • Proven track record of project and programme delivery is essential
    • 3-5 years’ experience in taking projects to market is essential.
    • Broad experience of Benefit Realisation Management is beneficial

    Working/Project Experience

    • Experience in managing organisational change projects is essential
    • Ability to analyse projects and organise into manageable workstreams is essential
    • Previous experience managing cross functional/transversal projects & programmes
    • Previous experience managing transformation programmes end to end
    • Previous experience delivering business and technical programmes
    • Strong stakeholder management and change management skills advantageous

    Agile Experience (Essential)

    • Experience as a Scrum Master applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory is essential.
    • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.

    OTHER:

    • General Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
    • Working in a large organization
    • Experience in a telecommunications environment is advantageous but not essential

    Training:

    Certification in -

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 Practitioner
    • Program Management Professional (PgMP) or equivalent advantageous but not essential
    • Agile Certification
