    Project Manager - Engineering

    • We are looking for a talented Project Manager – Engineering to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Power Gen Department in Gauteng, South Africa.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Drive successful delivery of projects by managing end-to-end execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
    • Lead project planning sessions to clearly define scope, objectives, timelines, and measurable performance outcomes.
    • Coordinate and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining strong organization and delivering within agreed timelines.
    • Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks and issues, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement effective solutions.
    • Communicate project status, updates, and insights transparently to sponsors and stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making.
    • Manage project budgets and resource allocation efficiently, ensuring optimal use of time, talent, and financial resources.
    • Foster a high-performing team environment by guiding, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to support team development.
    • Capture and share lessons learned, best practices, and project insights to continuously improve processes and contribute to broader team success.

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Strong ability to identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, using structured tools and approaches to ensure effective mitigation and positive outcomes.
    • Capability to plan and manage project resources efficiently, including budget and team capacity, to support successful delivery.
    • Proficiency in maintaining and tracking project schedules, ensuring key milestones are met and timelines are adhered to.
    • Clear understanding of scope management to ensure all required deliverables are completed—while avoiding unnecessary work—to achieve project objectives successfully.

    Education/ Experience:

    • Certified Design Draughtsperson (or equivalent qualification) with a proven track record in drawing design.
    • Demonstrated experience in project coordination and/or project management within an engineering or technical environment.
    • Proven ability to design balance of plant systems, ensuring components function effectively and integrate seamlessly.
    • Strong knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (IEC/SANS) and ability to apply them within project design and scope.
    • Ability to perform engineering calculations and incorporate design constraints and requirements into technical drawings.
    • Experience in compiling and quantifying bills of materials (BOMs) and developing scope of work documentation for contractor execution.
    • Solid understanding of engineering principles, product knowledge, and value engineering concepts, with the ability to communicate these effectively to stakeholders.
