    Project Manager L2

    • Responsible for end-to-end delivery of medium to high complexity projects involving internal and external stakeholders and impacting more than one project team, a single business processes and IT system.

    Areas of Responsibility

    Project Management & Governance

    • Determine project complexity and scope to enable effective project approval and prioritization.
    • Create and maintain an internal or external stakeholder register and communication plan to ensure all project stakeholders are informed of relevant project information.
    • Facilitate all project engagements to ensure the relevant stakeholders are informed and aligned on project information.
    • Set up and maintain project governance and management templates to ensure alignment between project stakeholders and the availability of project management data.
    • Develop and communicates a project schedule with dependencies, tasks, and milestones to create clarity on roles and responsibilities and project timelines.
    • Receive, identify, record, and communicate all project risks, issues and dependencies and ensure appropriate preventative, corrective or mitigating actions are identified and included in project planning and governance documentation to ensure the impact on project delivery is minimised.
    • Communicate changes to roadmaps and schedules with impact on delivery to relevant stakeholders to manage expectations.
    • Monitor and track the project team's time logging to ensure time is logged correctly for accurate billing and costing.
    • Track the on-time completion of tasks, manage risks and issues, and communicate with relevant stakeholders on project status to ensure the effective monitoring and control of projects.
    • Manage project change requests and adjust project plans and governance documents accordingly to ensure the impact of changes is understood, communicated, and agreed to by stakeholders.
    • Perform post-deployment activities to enable successful delivery into production environments.
    • Complete project closure activities and facilitate lessons learnt sessions to Identify and recommend project management improvement opportunities

    • Reviews project management practices and identify process improvement opportunities to make recommendations that support continuous improvement.
    • Reviews project management process performance measures to recommend improvement initiatives

    • Able to define the estimated duration of assigned tasks with a clear understanding of how this supports what needs to be delivered.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of how projects are managed; and how risks and dependencies are defined.

    • Skilled in project cost estimations, cost analysis and budgeting.
    • Skilled in tracking various costs on a project, identifying financial risk and implementing preventative actions.
    • Understands how to initiate the relevant procurement and legal processes.
    • Sound knowledge of the risk identification and monitoring process for a project.
    • Skilled in the mechanisms for governance and control in a project.
    • Skilled in applying project change control processes and requirements.
    • Knows the types of project risks and how these could be avoided or managed.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification BSC/ BCom/ Business Diploma / Adv Management Diploma

     Certifications

    • Minimum: Relevant PM certification, e.g., Certified associate in project management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent

    Experience

    • 4-6 years' experience in a project management role
    • Advantageous: Project management experience in a software development or IT service delivery environment
