Implement and optimise the Copper Capital Management Framework (CMF), ensuring compliance with global standards and practices that are fit for purpose for projects in the Africa region.
Provide governance, oversight, and assurance across the regional project portfolio, including active participation and facilitation of Asset Project Control Groups, project steering committees and the Copper Investment Committee.
Ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency in project reporting, enhancing decision-making capabilities and maintaining rigorous project control processes to deliver objectives timely and within budget.
Deliver strategic analytics, insights, and advice to optimise the Copper Portfolio Capital Planning and Program Management processes, contributing directly to project priority ranking and investment decision-making.
Conduct independent detailed project cost estimations, risk analyses, and schedule reviews at key stage gates throughout project lifecycles.
Identify and proactively manage project risks, ensuring compliance with standards, procedures, and best practices.
Collaborate closely with Life of Asset (LoA), Life of Mine Planning (LOMP), Technical and Operational Excellence teams to capture and embed best practices and innovative approaches to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiencies.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project management methodologies, tools, and systems to mitigate risk and improve capital effectiveness across the region.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and improvement across the regional project services function, facilitating growth, sustainability, and increased capital productivity.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to project personnel and external consultants, ensuring adherence to CMF processes and standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a project services or similar role within the resources, mining, or industrial sectors with practical delivery experience
Significant experience working with project delivery organisations within the Central African region (DRC experience would be highly advantageous).
Proven track record of effective stakeholder management at all organisational levels.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
Commercial and financial acumen with the ability to perform detailed cost and schedule analyses.
