System Controller at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Senior/Matric certificate
• Minimum one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in a transport environment
• Report writing skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
• Must be prepared to work shifts to cover all hours of operation including nighttime and weekends.

Key Performance Areas

• Ensure safe, efficient and reliable bus operations by controlling, tracking and monitoring buses
• Monitor the reversible bus lane and resetting it when required
• Interact with all the relevant parties involved in operations
• Report and coordinate events, incidents, accidents, etc.
• Monitor CCTV cameras at stations and along the routes
• Monitor the accuracy of passenger information
• Maintain and update information regarding the service
• Ensure schedule adherence compliance is maintained by the Vehicle Operating Companies (VOCs)
• Compile control centre reports on incidents, events, breakdowns, etc.
