Property Analyst (Listed Property) at Talent ID (Pty) Ltd

Position Function:

Seeking a qualified, ambitious and diligent candidate that will be required to analyse the SA listed property sector.  This analysis will be used to make decisions on both dedicated property funds and also within multi-asset funds. 

Basic Candidate Requirements  

• Bcom or BBusSc or other business degree, CFA, engineering degree and/or CA(SA) qualifications will be advantageous
• Maintain research tools for use by the analyst and portfolio management teams
• An interest in businesses and what drives their success
• Have a passion for investments
• An ability to synthesise masses of economic, industry and company information, and to effectively analyse this and formulate an investment rationale
• An ability to communicate in a concise manner with colleagues and external management teams, both in oral and written form
• A team player who relates well to colleagues
• Strong ability to critically analyse data and financial statements and maintain excel spreadsheets

Duties

• Research and conduct thorough financial analysis of listed companies on the JSE (with an initial focus on Listed Property) with a view to taking valuation based active positions
• Maintain company models and continuously update with new information and results
• Provide support to Portfolio Managers and assist in assimilating data and performing ad-hoc tasks
• Engage with company management to interrogate company results, strategy, transactions and outlook as well as engaging with industry professionals with a view to obtain more knowledge about the relevant sector
• Liaise with client servicing teams on any requirements for client reporting, and assist with client engagements in written and oral format
