QA Team Lead at Core Group

About the opportunity

• We’re looking for a QA Team Lead to own the quality assurance function for Core Group’s omnichannel platform and other in-house software. This is a senior leadership role with accountability for test strategy, quality gates, QA delivery, release readiness and the development of a high-performing testing team across web, mobile, POS and integrations.

What you’ll be doing

• Own and drive the test strategy, standards and quality gates across web, mobile, POS and integrations.
• Plan QA delivery across projects, including test planning, resourcing, coverage and release sign-off.
• Define and report quality metrics and continuously improve testing effectiveness.
• Ensure strong functional, regression, integration, API and performance testing across releases.
• Drive test automation and embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and release gates.
• Build, resource, coach and performance-manage the QA team.
• Ensure defects are triaged, tracked and resolved within agreed delivery expectations.
• Partner with Engineering Leads, Architects and stakeholders to communicate quality risk clearly and coordinate readiness for peak trading and major product launches.
• Ensure QA follows security, data-protection, compliance, change-control and release-management requirements.

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in software testing / QA, including recent experience leading a QA team.
• Deep expertise in QA strategy, planning and functional, regression, integration, API and performance testing.
• Strong test-automation strategy and CI/CD integration experience.
• Proven ability to run the QA function independently, including planning, resourcing and release sign-off.
• Strong people leadership and the ability to communicate quality risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Advantageous

• ISTQB Advanced or equivalent testing qualification.
• Retail, e-commerce, POS or omnichannel experience.
• Automated testing experience across web and native mobile.
• Experience delivering QA through high-demand product launches and peak-trading periods.
