Neurodivergence profile: The child presents with ADHD and dyspraxia. He is highly musical and enjoys horse riding, both of which are strengths that can be used to support learning and regulation.
Support focus: This role is centred around educational support rather than following a rigid curriculum. The child is currently functioning at different academic levels across subjects, with language-based subjects being an area of greatest need.
The primary focus will be on English language development, including sentence formation, expressive language, comprehension, and social communication skills. The aim is to support him in becoming more functional, confident, and independent in his learning and daily life.
The candidate will work closely with the mother to source appropriate resources and materials and to adapt learning to suit the child’s individual needs.
There is therapy input, and the successful candidate should be comfortable collaborating with other professionals where needed.
Curriculum: There is no requirement to follow a specific formal curriculum. The family is not focused on a CAPS or matric certificate at this stage, but rather on providing the child with a meaningful, supportive education tailored to his abilities and developmental needs.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 12:00pm
School holidays: To be discussed. Please advise how you would like holidays to be structured and whether hours would change during school holidays.

Special requirements: Female candidate, Qualified teacher, ideally Intermediate Phase, Experience with special needs and neurodivergent learners is essential
Start date and term: 19 January - Permanent position
Salary: R18 000pm plus SARS rates per kilometre for any driving done for the family (excluding travel to and from work).
