    Quality Control Scientist

    The Opportunity: 

    • Performs product QC testing according to standard procedures and within specified time frames. Additionally, analyzes and interprets test results and completes QC reports accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Performs ad hoc testing as and when required for troubleshooting, investigation purposes, projects and validation purposes.
    • Drives NCR/CAPA/CR processes for QC and participates in investigations. Utilizes technical writing skills to compile investigation or RCA reports where required. Provides input for brainstorming activities, support approaches for problem-solving, trouble-shooting and data analysis related to QC failures.
    • Manages schedule and workload independently and communicates any delays/deadlines that cannot be met to the relevant line manager or stakeholder/s.
    • Ensures training on QC assays are complete before performing testing as well as provide training to other team members when required.
    • Maintains selected pieces of equipment and areas of the facility and may assist in regular laboratory environment monitoring tests
    • Support 5S efforts to streamline overall operations and improve efficiency. Ensure that new process implementation actions are performed on time.
    • Actively works toward achieving departmental KPIs and may perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Who Are You:

    • Honours degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related fields and 1 - 2 years relevant working experience; or an equivalent combination of education and working experience.
    • Experience in Molecular Biology techniques, such as PCR, qPCR and next-generation sequencing.
    • An understanding of the concepts associated with Quality Control.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required).

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment, flexibility to adjust with moving priorities and ensuring superior attention to accuracy and details, while meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
    • Critical thinker with a creative and disciplined approach to problem solving. 
    • Must have demonstrated capacity to write and comprehend complex protocols and reports, programs, and situations.
    • The ability to work independently and productively with minimal direction, and routinely exercise initiative and sound judgment.
    • Experience in ISO quality management systems (i.e. ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485) will be advantageous.
