Quantity Surveyor at GVK-Siya Zama Building Contractors

Role Purpose

• The Quantity Surveyor (QS) safeguards the company’s commercial and contractual interests while contributing to cost efficiency, profitability, and project success. The QS is responsible for coordinating and guiding commercial activities across multiple large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and driving successful financial and contractual outcomes.
• This role requires a technically strong and commercially astute professional who can support and collaborate across multiple sites simultaneously, engage effectively with stakeholders, and mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of technical quantity surveying experience in the construction industry.
• Experience contributing to multiple project sites and high-value projects.
• Exposure to both building and civil engineering sectors.

Professional Registration

• Membership with ASAQS and/or MBA.
• Registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) is preferred.

• Internal: Senior Quantity Surveyor, Chief Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Director, Contracts Managers, Project Teams, Internal Support Departments
• External: Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, Suppliers, SMMEs

Role Requirements & Working Conditions

• Willingness to travel regularly to and from multiple project sites.
• Ability to work under high workloads, tight deadlines, and extended working hours when required.
