Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate OneDrive Audits to ensure accurate digital and site documentation.
• Conduct quality audits across 13+ projects, ensuring adherence to contractual, legislative, and company standards.
• Oversee audits on projects with a combined value exceeding R1 billion.
• Ensure early identification, reporting, and rectification of non-conformances.
• Provide support and recommendations to Project and Site teams on quality standards and compliance.
• Report directly to the Contracts Director and provide input on quality performance across the business.

Requirements

• Proven experience in quality assurance within construction (both building and civil projects).
• Strong auditing experience, preferably across large, complex projects.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance frameworks, and project management systems.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Role Purpose

• The Quantity Surveyor (QS) safeguards the company’s commercial and contractual interests while contributing to cost efficiency, profitability, and project success. The QS is responsible for coordinating and guiding commercial activities across multiple large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and driving successful financial and contractual outcomes.
• This role requires a technically strong and commercially astute professional who can support and collaborate across multiple sites simultaneously, engage effectively with stakeholders, and mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of technical quantity surveying experience in the construction industry.
• Experience contributing to multiple project sites and high-value projects.
• Exposure to both building and civil engineering sectors.

Professional Registration

• Membership with ASAQS and/or MBA.
• Registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) is preferred.

Key Relationships

• Internal: Senior Quantity Surveyor, Chief Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Director, Contracts Managers, Project Teams, Internal Support Departments
• External: Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, Suppliers, SMMEs

Role Requirements & Working Conditions

• Willingness to travel regularly to and from multiple project sites.
• Ability to work under high workloads, tight deadlines, and extended working hours when required.

• 2+ years of managerial or leadership experience, including mentoring and developing junior Quantity Surveyors.
• Proven track record of managing the commercial function across multiple high-value projects (R1 billion+) simultaneously.

• Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are met and relationships are maintained.
• Provide strategic input into project planning and execution to optimize commercial performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
