Requirements

Minimum Academic Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of technical quantity surveying experience in large-scale building and/or civil engineering projects.
• 2+ years of managerial or leadership experience, including mentoring and developing junior Quantity Surveyors.
• Proven track record of managing the commercial function across multiple high-value projects (R1 billion+) simultaneously.

Professional Registration

• Membership with ASAQS and/or MBA.
• Registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of multiple large-scale projects concurrently, from inception through to final account.
• Mentor, guide, and develop junior and intermediate Quantity Surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Oversee cost planning, procurement strategy, tendering, contract administration, and final accounts.
• Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are met and relationships are maintained.
• Provide strategic input into project planning and execution to optimize commercial performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
