Re-Advert: Honours Student: Horticulture And Agro-Processing) (Nelspruit)
Conduct field research and trials related to tropical and sub-tropical crops postharvest activities and sweet potato product development.
Engage with project team members within the project.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; perform basic laboratory tests and record experimental data accurately.
Ability to work for extended time periods in the laboratory and field environment.
Collect, capture and process materials for laboratory analysis and agro-processing activities.
Assist with postharvest and agro-processing operations, including sweet potato product development, fruit pulping, drying, juicing, and product preservation.
Compile verbal and written reports detailing methodologies, activities, and research findings for supervisors and project lead.
Contribute towards the dissemination of outcomes through presentations and publications.
Ensure compliance with the applicable OHS, GMP and Food Safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
BSc degree or BTech or Advanced Diploma in Food Science and Technology/ Post harvest/ Plant Production/ Crop Sciences/ Agriculture or any other relevant qualification.
Candidate to register for Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant qualification.
