Ensure that our strategy as well as marketing objectives and business plans are further developed, updated and accurately implemented
Maintain and develop Swiss Re's relationship with assigned markets to achieve the Market Team and the overarching Business Unit Strategic and Financial Objectives
Take a holistic view in relation to the allocated clients by ensuring an efficient service proposition is provided that considers all business opportunities, including facultative and treaty business
Originate, underwrite and cost Property and Casualty treaty business in compliance with the appropriate guidelines and conforming to best practice, within allocated underwriting authorities
Raise, maintain and improve the leading profile of Swiss Re within the allocated markets
About the Team
Composed of highly motivated people with strong team spirit, the team focuses on underwriting and developing solutions for clients and achieving the objectives of the MEA Business Unit.
Perfectly integrated in the African market, the Sub-Saharan Africa Market Unit team is in charge of developing a sustainable and profitable underwriting portfolio across P&C lines covering East, West and Southern Africa.
The team is based in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Zurich; and collaborates fully with our Specialty, Underwriting, Business Management, Solutions and Transactions teams servicing the region.

Essentials:
Minimum 5 years (re)insurance experience
Excellent understanding of non-life insurance and reinsurance markets for the assigned regions
Extensive P&C costing and underwriting expertise (preferably in various P&C lines of business)
Market knowledge and experience is advantageous
Sales and marketing experience
