Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner. Registration with the Professional Council:
Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
Inherent requirements of the job: Commuted overtime is compulsory. Emergency and after hour call cover.
Each Registrar will be appointed in a specific training complex but could be required to work across the platform on request. Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Completion of FCA Part 1.
Other appropriate Post-Graduate Medical Diploma, Certificate or Degree.
Current certificate of ATLS/ACLS. Experience in Internal Medicine or critical care under supervision of a Specialist.
Appropriate and sufficient clinical experience since obtaining the degree of MBChB and after completion of internal rotations.
Experience in Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Diploma in Anaesthesia (DA).
Effective leadership & interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and practical skills for safe regional and general anaesthesia.
