    Research, Insights and Analytics Manager

    Purpose

    • Support and contribute to the overall advancement of strategic Brand, Marketing and Client insights, by providing value added business insights, recommendations and strategic input derived from in-depth data analysis, as well as conducting and analysing high quality, appropriate and cost-efficient marketing research.

    Responsibilities:
    Data Analysis and Insights Generation 

    • Synthesizes data from multiple sources to address complex business questions
    • Ensuring data is analysed into meaningful, actionable insights and recommendations that will improve decision making and help drive business performance
    • The ability to demonstrate strong logic and to explain complex analysis in an easy to understand way – telling a story rather than providing a data dump
    • Data extraction, manipulation and analysis of customer and other data using analytical and data mining tools, to identify trends and draw insight
    • Present fit-for-purpose, actionable results, and recommendations to various audiences.
    • Brand performance evaluation and scorecard development, presenting back to the team with recommendations to ensure we maintain and build our brand and capabilities.
    • Work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver robust and insightful evaluation of marketing activities, highlighting key learnings and generating benchmarks for future comparisons.
    • Build measurement frameworks within the Marketing and Communications team, as well as across various other areas when needed (e.g. CX)

    Market Research

    • Lead market research projects end-to-end, providing input into the design, management of agencies and key stakeholders autonomously, input into presentations to extract insight to leverage within the business, ensuring that recommendations from the research are actioned and tracked.
    • Extract data from tracker studies to conduct sector and relevant business deep dives, present insights to business, recommending corrective action

    This includes but is not limited to: Annual Brand and Market Share tracker, Client Satisfaction, U&A, Comms Testing etc. Supporting both local studies and studies conducted within our African markets of operation.

    Reporting and dashboards

    • Developing and evolving appropriate metrics and tools to provide reports and analysis that leads to actionable strategic insights
    • Creation and management of intuitive data visualization reports and dashboards
    • Preparation and delivery of integrated reports drawing all pieces of information from multiple sources together and connecting the dots to form coherent and insightful reports
    • Manage and interpret client, competitor and market data and trends, to consolidate information into actionable market insight reports.

    proactively identify and own the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives that could increase the quality and/or speed of analysis and reporting.

    Stakholder management:

    • Build rapport with leaders in the Bank and generate buy-in on key projects and actions recommended
    • Serve as subject matter expert in research, insights, and analytics, delivering insights into business strategy and digital transformation in the bank
    • Pro-actively engage with stakeholders to determine business and marketing needs, determine appropriate analytics requirements, and deliver actionable insights and recommendations
    • Use data to influence management and project stakeholders across various product teams and the wider business.

    Effectively manage relationships with agency partners 

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Relevant Degree with majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar 
    • 5-7 years’ experience in insights and analytics
    • Proven track record in designing and executing market research studies, as well as translating data output to strategic business insights
    • Validated quantitative analysis experience
    • Banking, and financial services, telecoms exposure beneficial
    • Experience dealing with large and complex data sets, converting them to consumable and insightful reports and business recommendations
    • SQL skills advantageous
    • Be an excel guru
    • Be a master of SPSS, SAS, Google analytics
    • Strong experience using data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Qlikview or Tableau
    • Experience of statistical modelling such as segmentation, conjoint etc. is advantageous
