Researcher: Molecular Biology (Nelspruit) at Agricultural Research Council

Description

• Initiate/manage research projects on molecular markers and other applications in fruit trees.
• Write publications/present research outcomes to stakeholders and the scientific community.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Research Technicians, Assistants and Students.
• Develop tools for molecular breeding and marker assisted selection in fruit trees.
• Liaise with growers, industry technical officers and national and provincial government.

Requirements

• PhD in Plant Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Genetics/Life Sciences.
• Knowledge of molecular biology applications in plants.
• Compile reports and make presentations.
• Manage project budgets and allocate resources.
• Mentor and supervise Research Technicians, Assistants and Students.
• Registration with a scientific and professional body will be an advantage.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Code EB driver's licence and ability to drive.
