Resource Specialist at BICRM

Role Overview

• The Resource Specialist will be responsible for proactive capacity planning, resource allocation, and contractor management. You will maintain a comprehensive inventory of skills and resources, optimise utilisation across portfolios, and plan for future workforce needs to balance growing and reduced IT demands. This role is pivotal to ensuring projects are staffed with the right skills at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive capacity planning to assess the organisation’s ability to take on new projects.
• Optimise resource allocation across portfolios, programs, and projects.
• Maintain an inventory of all resources and skills to guide allocation and investment decisions.
• Plan for a future-oriented workforce with the right capabilities to meet evolving IT demands.
• Collate and analyse the allocation of internal and external resources to meet project demand.
• Assign resources based on skill sets, experience, and availability.
• Monitor and manage team workloads, utilisation rates, and overtime.
• Identify and resolve resource conflicts and over-utilisation issues.
• Mitigate resource shortages through reallocation or by assigning additional resources.
• Collaborate with IT department's Resourcing and other stakeholders to improve resource management processes.
• Compile and deliver monthly resource allocation and utilisation reports.
• Review and recommend improvements to project and program capacitation strategies.
• Support project teams in resolving resource management issues.
