A specialist retirement fund administration business is seeking a Retirement Fund Administration Lead to join their small team. The organisation operates within a regulated environment, delivering retirement fund administration services, working closely with brokers and investment houses.
The Retirement Fund Administration Manager will take full responsibility for the end-to-end administration of retirement fund processes, including contributions schedule processing, withdrawals, and claims. This role requires a highly detail-oriented and financially astute professional who can manage reconciliations, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, while leading a small administration team and working closely with the CEO.
This is an in-office based role, offering a degree of flexibility in working hours. The company is also open to considering reduced working hours, with a corresponding adjustment in salary.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the accurate processing and reconciliation of monthly contributions, schedules and investment instructions
Manage and process withdrawals, retirements, death claims, disinvestments and payments
Ensure all transactions comply with statutory, regulatory and fund rules (including Pension Funds Act, sector and joint conduct standards)
Liaise with brokers, participating employers, and investment houses
Manage and reconcile fund accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Prepare and present detailed financial and operational reports to the CEO and to the Principal Officer where required
Monitor late or non-payment of contributions and apply regulatory processes
Lead and mentor a small administration team, ensuring high performance, accountability and compliance
Maintain strong internal controls, accuracy, and data integrity across all processes
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in retirement fund / employee benefits administration
Strong financial acumen and high level of numerical accuracy
Advanced Excel and administration systems experience
Previous team leadership experience
Proven experience in contributions processing, claims, and fund reconciliations
Understanding of Pension Funds Act and regulations (advantageous)
Experience working with brokers, investment houses, and participating employers
