Revit Technician (Interior Design Specific) at ARRCC Design

JOB SUMMARY

• The Revit Technician is a highly experienced interior designer responsible for managing multiple projects’ production of drawings ranging from small to large-sized projects of basic to complex scope with minimal supervision including full architectural solutions in coordination with an architect.
• We are looking for someone who is highly detailed-oriented, thorough, and self-motivated. As a Revit Technician, you will use Revit to produce technical drawings for a variety of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Thorough knowledge of and compliance with all ARRCC systems, naming conventions, standards and procedures and drive continuous improvements for the department
• Able to work within a structured document management system and be accountable for upholding that system
• To contribute, or otherwise assist as required to provide project teams with full technical drawing capabilities and services covering both presentation and contractual material
• Thorough knowledge of Construction Methods and Materials. Focus on furniture manufacture methods and technology as well as detailing
• Custom modelling of furniture (as per the DC / DD presentation imagery), lighting, adding appropriate textures to scatters, sofas, rugs, etc.
• Furniture Layouts / Spatial planning of spaces
• Numbered Furniture Layouts which relate back to Register
• Excellent time management and communication skills to ensure all deadlines are continuously met with Project Managers and Suppliers
• Ability to be flexible and forthcoming with supporting and assisting team leaders and designers with achieving deadlines
• Collaboration with IA and SAOTA on shared Revit models
• Ability to produce and navigate within complex models in Revit
• Good eye for producing architectural 3d views for Client presentation and internal meeting purposes, including appropriate angles, view ratios, texture and furniture model visuals
• Produce plans, sections, elevations, and details to convey interior design information
• Work under the direction of the Interior Designers and internal architects
• Import and convert CAD drawings into Revit
• Perform other Revit -related duties as assigned by direct supervisor
• Mentoring and training other staff. Identifying when training refreshers are required and problem-solving to achieve best Revit practice across departments
• Contribution and organization of the Revit Furniture Library including supervising and auditing all-new models on a monthly basis. Monthly publishing of newly added furniture models
• Seamless texture library to be developed to meet detailed expectations
• Production of standard custom furniture shop drawings of multiple typologies
• Assistance with electrical and lighting coordination drawing packs, including Bed Elevations, Feature Lighting, Artwork Layouts and Window Treatments. Ability to analyze and process consultant layouts in order to identify problems and propose solutions

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CRITERIA

• National Diploma in Interior Design
• Proficiency in Revit, Lumion and AutoCAD.
• Minimum 3+ years working experience
• Project experience: Minimum of two project types with Involvement in min 3 stages of project scope.
• Ability to work in a complex multi-cultural environment
• Identifies and shares innovative ways of improving current systems and processes
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to understand and formulate design documentation
• Ability to use a variety of media and software in the development and documentation of a design project
• Ability to accurately understand and interpret instructions
