Sales Manager South East Africa - Johannesburg, South Africa
Sales Southern Africa is part of the Vestas Mediterranean Region; a Sales Business Unit of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world. The Sales Manager role is anchored in the sales department but works across multiple functions in an international environment to deliver on Vestas commercial strategy. We are responsible for sales of high value and complex renewable energy projects in a department with a flexible and open work environment.
Responsibilities
Identify, screen and pursue sales prospects in the region.
Develop the bid management process.Negotiate and close project contracts.
Use Vestas' technical and engineering support and wind resource assessments to enable the prospective customers carry out wind site assessments and technical configurations.
Educate prospective customers on the business case for wind energy and optimisation options.
Support Vestas' political agenda, marketing and branding activities, acting as "Vestas Ambassador".
Develop, review and report on the sales process.
Secure customer loyalty by providing customers with optimal support and professionalism throughout the whole sales phase and by supporting through communication and coordination.
Work with Vestas' Structured Finance team to support customers with wind farm financing and introduction of suitable financial institutions.
Qualifications
Degree in engineering, business, economics or similar
Postgraduate studies will be seen as an asset (MBA or specific Finance/Engineering related master studies).· Experienced - min. 7 years - in Sales or Business Development in some of the markets in scope for the position (Southern Africa).
Knowledge on the Energy Sector, Renewable/Wind Energy Market will be seen as an asset.
Knowledge of economic, political and cultural terms of target countries and open cultural mindset.
