The role:
Summary:
The Salesforce Developer is responsible for the technical implementation of Valenture Institute’s Salesforce-based solutions, including its CRM and Student Information Systems. The Salesforce Developer supports the Salesforce Product Architect and Salesforce Solutions Architect to deliver sound working software to ensure a robust and seamless experience for both internal and external users.
Responsibilities:
Work with key members of the Valenture Technology team to to determine functional and technical requirements and participate in application design, configuration, testing and deployment
Perform configuration and customization of the Salesforce platform
Participate in efforts to develop and execute testing, training and documentation
Produce non-functional deliverables such as requirements specifications, design deliverables and, status reports
Utilise best practises to provide operational support, enhancements and bug fixes as needed on the Salesforce platform
Proactively engage in continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and development processes.
Contribute to quick reference guides and documentation for technical knowledge sharing and operational troubleshooting.
Perform regular reviews on implementation done by other developers
Manage the various Salesforce environments - Dev, QA, Staging and Production
Be able to communicate development progress to the broader Salesforce team
Maintain the security and integrity of the application software
Design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable Apex code, following best practises
Provide technical design input and contribute to the build of Flows
Write test classes for the class that you develop and ensure more than 80% code coverage
Support delivery of business requirements through application development, including basic Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Lightning Web Components, Apex classes and triggers
Assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code
Requirements
BSc Computer Science, Engineering or BSc/BComm Information Systems
At least Salesforce certification “Salesforce Platform Developer I”
4+ years of Salesforce solution design and implementation experience
Involvement in at least 5 sophisticated Salesforce implementations
4+ years experience using programmatic and declarative tools to achieve business requirements
2+ years Salesforce Lightning experience
Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Highly organised
Software engineering skills with Force.com Platform (Apex, Aura, LWC, SOQL, Unit Testing)
Experience in core web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript and jQuery
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modelling, and ETL tools
Experience with web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.)
Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM
Visualforce page development
Hands-on experience in Salesforce administration setup such as managing users, security controls, and data as well as creating roles, profiles, and reports.
Experience in designing custom objects, custom fields, picklists, page layouts, workflow, approval processes, validation rules, custom tabs, reports, Visualforce pages, dashboards, and email generation according to application requirements
Advantageous:
Salesforce Education or Nonprofit Cloud experience is a major advantage
Familiarity with Lightning Web Components or popular Javascript Frameworks (e.g. ReactJS)
Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification
Salesforce Community Cloud Certification
Salesforce Platform Developer II Certification
Salesforce Javascript Developer
Experience designing and/or managing a release strategy
Familiarity with version control systems
