MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The DC Replenishment specialist is responsible for their customer group’s short-term replenishment cycle in their assigned categories. The main focus is on improving On-Shelf Availability, dispatch rate and DOH reduction via detailed knowledge of the customers systems at store and depot level. This role, dependent on the account, may spend some or all of the time located at customer DC or head office, and will predominantly interact with customer systems rather than Unilever systems (e.g. APO). Subject to the level of access granted by the customer, the DC replenishment specialist duties may vary from – full creation of VMI orders, to initiating store replenishment, to providing spread-sheet analysis of SKU stock and availability levels.
JOB SUMMARY:
They will provide insight on stocking levels at depot and store, plus changes to distribution or buy-in phasing to help with interpretation of buy-in patterns and decision making during short stock situations. Where customer activity plans are seen to be out of line with Unilever expectations, they will inform the NAM / CD team, and where actual buy-in is very different to plan – alert Category COM team directly.
Deliver optimum On Shelf Availability through interactions with customer systems.
Building close relationships with customer contacts to help maximise on-shelf availability.
Administer CPFR process by running daily and weekly reports to identify exception, researching stock issues and recommending actions to customer supply chain.
Day to day contact and relationship with customer supply chain controllers.
Support NAM in short term planning meeting with customer buyer and supply chain.
Handle major incongruities to customer ordering pattern, such as depot or store openings.
Drive sales through insights.
With the Customer Service Centre, seek to minimise impact on customer service of shortages.
Report and analyse Key Performance Indicators, implementing continuous improvement activities around these. Support Category Demand Planners in category review of volume variances, through formal root cause major variances and agree preventive actions.
Support rest of customer service team to maintain operational cover in times of absence or other priorities
Maximizing sales through optimal on-shelf availability
Improve Unilever service levels through fill rate optimization
Maintaining optimal customer in-stock and inventory levels
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Degree/ National Diploma in Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Sales or Matric/ Grade 12 with 2-5 years FMCG customer/ sales experience and supply chain demand planning experience
Please note the role is based in Johannesburg and the incumbent will travel often/ least twice a month from Johannesburg to Durban
