Have a BSc Honours in Geology or related tertiary qualified with a postgraduate qualification in the Mineral Resource Management discipline.
Registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
Have at least 5 years’ geological modelling and mineral resource estimation experience in Geology / Mineral Resource Management.
Have extensive knowledge in grade estimation techniques and be proficient in the use of geological modelling and geostatistical software such as Leapfrog, Datamine and Supervisor.
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Duties and Responsibilities:
Promoting and establishing a cross-functional working relationship with relevant stakeholders
Providing expert technical, modelling, and evaluation services to optimise the operation’s Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves
Contribute towards the preparation of the resource models and ore reserve estimates for auditing by the Corporate Technical Services and by external service providers
Supporting the mining geology functions by providing an oversight of geology processes and systems and ensuring governance
Assist in the provision of analysis and data collection in respect of interpretation and modelling.
Providing a timely geological input as required to match the overall resource development schedule for the business
Co-ordinate projects and implementing integrated processes and systems across the section to meet business requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Setting and continuously reviewing standards and best practices for sampling, mineral resource modelling and ore reserve estimation
Contribute to robust and high-integrity databases that support the geological and resource models within the developed QA/QC standards
Reviewing, and maintaining systems for quality control
Ensuring that the sampling and sample processing are compliant with ISO:17025
