    Segment Sales Manager - Excitation - Modderfontein

    Job Summary 

    You will be working as Segment Sales Manager and will be part of Process Automation business area for Energy Industries division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Business Health, Safety And Environment and will be responsible to define and implement sales and marketing strategies for the assigned segment in order to achieve ABB market penetration and growth aspirations, proactively lead, develop and coach the sales department, manage the marketing and sales action plans to both achieve the key qualitative and quantitative targets in a profitable way and to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.

    Your responsibilities

    • Achieving and exceeding the sales targets, based on key objectives set by global Business Line (BL), ensuring the maximum portfolios are offered in line with the BL strategy, according to local market potential, needing and according to the agreed regional business approach
    • Continuously assessing market trends, customers, competitors, industries, applications and country analyses to identify and realize opportunities with existing and potential new customers within the target segment
    • Giving feedbacks to the Business Region/Business Line on market trends, competitive landscape, market-pricing expectations, channel strategy and local conditions to win, evaluating market opportunities and decides appropriate activities in line with the strategy
    • Ensuring profitable business growth in the domestic and allocated regional market, ensuring achievement of sales volume and targets by setting appropriate price and margin for sales booked locally
    • Participating in negotiation of key contracts, managing ongoing costs by using latest global tools and processes to maximize efficiency within the team, ensuring the execution of projects in the excitation code according to the contract / service agreements with the customer in terms of schedule, quality, financial results to protect ABB’s interest
    • Coordinating with the Local Division team as per the global agreement between the BL & HUBs Will also use the dedicated personnel in the excitation code, who will be reporting to this role, building and maintaining strong relationships at senior levels with the key customers, stakeholders and other decision makers
    • Ensuring effective marketing communications, in particular ABB’s value proposition, agreeing with the Business Line the relevant metrics (e.g., On Time In Full (OTIF), lead time) that the Business Line must report and focus on to ensure and grow customer satisfaction

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Electrical /Electronics or equivalent
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in marketing and sales of solution and service in power generation utilities
    • Experience of sales in power generation or EXs projects, required previous experience of EXS business
    • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are required
    • Preference will be given to EE candidates.
