    Senior Accountant

    The Senior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to historic financial accounting. This position will be responsible for maintaining and applying accounting principles, practices and procedures in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate policies to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget, forecasting and cashflow.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION:

    • Ensure compliance with internal control policies.
    • Support Global Financial Controller in financial audit of CCi group consolidated financials, statutory accounting practices and regulations relevant to CCi Pty Ltd and Clusten.
    • Responsible for the compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
    • Management of the global insurance contracts
    • Responsible for accurate and timely capturing of Accounts receivable and the collections as applicable.
    • Responsible for the accurate and timely capturing of Accounts payable
    • Ensure all intercompany accounts balance monthly and at year end with the corresponding Intercompany partner
    • Responsible for maintaining and applying policies, procedures, and strategy for cashflow management
    • Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.
    • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
    • Interacts with the Global Financial Controller to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through year-end.
    • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
    • Management of Fixed Assets, leases and other contracts
    • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud.
    • Responsible for managing accounting payroll activities.
    • Review of financial statements variances to budget

    KPA 1: Monthly deadlines achieved

    KPA 2: Regional support objectives achieved

    KPA 3: Review of actuals monthly, YTD and annually

    KPA 4: Compliance deadlines achieved

    KPA 5: No material reporting non-compliance

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related major required.
    • Honours and/or SAICA/CIMA registration preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of broad financial and operations experience required.
    • Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
    • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & IFRS
    • Advanced English language skills.
