Senior Analyst Portfolio Review: Investment Provider Department
Analyse and evaluate applications for new portfolios of existing collective investments schemes (local and foreign) and make recommendations for the approval or rejection thereof;
Analyse and evaluate applications for amendments, amalgamations and terminations of registered portfolios of collective investment schemes;
Monitor and report on the continued compliance by all registered portfolios, identify problems and possible solutions;
Monitor, Identify and report on trends in the Market;
Monitoring market conduct in the Investment Providers industry which are in line with international best practices to include Conduct Risk identified in the Portfolio Review function;
Analyse and evaluate the Information Disclosure and Marketing Material relating to portfolios of existing collective investment schemes;
Maintain a comprehensive database of information of the relevant collective investment schemes portfolios, and compilation of reports to users;
The incumbent must stay up to date with international developments and also perform research where required;
Train, mentor and coach junior staff;
Participate in ad hoc projects as required from time to time;
Perform administrative or other activities relating to the licensing of the portfolios of existing collective investment schemes; and
As part of integration with the bigger Investment Providers team, engage in onsite/virtual and quarterly engagements with entities.

Requirements
B Com or LLB and any related degree with at least 5 year’s relevant experience, preferably in the South African Collective Investment Schemes industry. The candidate must demonstrate good knowledge of the functioning of the Collective Investment Schemes industry. An understanding regulatory framework and experience within the Financial Services industry will be an advantage.
