    Senior Analyst (previously titled Associate) - Chemicals, Building Materials & Construction

    The Team:  

    The Chemicals, Building Materials & Construction team has 15 full-time analysts across various offices including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid and Johannesburg and is responsible for over 130 rated entities across Europe and Africa.  We are a dynamic and diverse team covering transaction-oriented sectors with a focus on providing high quality analysis and excellent client service.

    The Impact:  

    The role involves providing insightful credit risk analysis through interacting with Finance and Treasury teams of global and regional rated entities; making and opining on rating outcome decisions; as well as communicating with investors/market participants by way of top-quality sector and company reports; and direct engagement with debt markets either in person, webcasts or podcasts.

S&P Global Ratings credit analysts have primary responsibility for fostering strong relationships with rated entities. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Formulating and clearly articulating a credit rating recommendation.
    • Thoroughly documenting supporting analysis;
    • Being able to coherently and logically present and defend conclusions to a credit rating committee;
    • Managing relationships with clients including rated issuers as well as investors;
    • Developing insightful and forward-looking company and sector level credit rating research
    • Follow all regulatory and internally driven processes.

    What We’re Looking For:  

    • Ability to read, understand, and analyze financial statements.
    • Ability to analyze debt/instrument documentation and transaction structures.
    • Ability to develop forecast models based on macroeconomic and company specific drivers.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in time sensitive situations.
    • Highly advanced communication skills
