Senior Architectural Technologist/Healthcare Specialist at GIBB Engineering and Architecture

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

• Develop and manage design, development, and delivery of projects;
• Produce design documentation aligned to the design brief;
• Assist management with the planning and coordination of the project team and program;
• The ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team;
• Utilizing REVIT & REVIT ACC and other software and equipment to prepare project designs, presentations and construction documentation;
• Works in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams;
• Engage proactively in the design and production discourse and processes across the SVA studios;
• Ability to work independently, and to prescribed standards and deadlines; 
• Contribute to the office culture and the success of the SVA brand.

Requirements

Qualification:

• Minimum of a B. Tech / N.H.Dip Architectural Technology qualification
• Valid Professional Registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP)
• Supplementary Healthcare Planning courses, training, or qualifications are essential.

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of fifteen years post SACAP Professional Certification experience.
• Experience in large scale (minimum 150 bed / R 500 million,) healthcare projects in South Africa and throughout Africa.
• Proven track record of delivering projects across Africa.
• Experience in commercial, residential, healthcare, retail, industrial and governmental projects.
• Primary software skills should include Revit, and Microsoft Office, including MS Project.
• Proficiency in preparing and managing in-house project teams including resource planning, project documentation and delivery programs.
• Demonstrable experience in professional consulting team management and coordination.
• Experience in Principal Agent, project partner / lead architect role and construction contract documentation, administration and delivery.
• Experience in development management, tenant lease agreements and property development transactions will be beneficial.
