Senior Artisan Assistant (Plumber) at Rand Water

Job Advert Summary    

• Assistant Plumber to ensure that allocated plants/facilities are kept to a presentable, safe and reliable standard as required by Rand Water with regard to all general plumbing work associated with plant, buildings, residential property, connecting and disconnecting of pipe equipment, installation of pipes, maintenance and repairs, unblocking and storm water systems, sewage/sumps, geysers etc. at the Rand Water site

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12
• 1 year relevant experience in the plumbing environment.
• Safety training will serve as an added advantage.

Primary Duties    

• Provide the artisan with tools and equipment as requested.
• Repairs to domestic plumbing equipment, blocked drains, storm water drainage.
• Assist the artisan with installation and/or replacement of geysers, pressure relief and safety valves, sanitary ware and all connections associated with this work.
• Carry tools and materials to and from where work is being carrying out.
• Cleaning of tools and equipment and area where work was performed.
• Loading and off-loading of material and equipment.
• Perform excavations at job site.
• Conduct housekeeping in allocated area.
