    Senior Associate, Government Relations & Regulatory Strategy

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with co-ordination of GRRS team documents including: planners, trackers and stakeholder engagement plans and other ad hoc cross-team work.
    • Work to support the team on Middle East/Africa engagement including attending some meetings, liaising with colleagues and Government stakeholders and helping to prepare briefings and papers.
    • Support in providing collateral and briefings for key GRRS events or wider objectives on relevant policy topics for example, on digital assets or sustainable finance/ESG.
    • Creating presentations and collateral for meetings with political stakeholders including visually engaging handouts, powerpoint presentations and graphics. Including working on updating our GRRS Country Priority Analysis.
    • Write and contribute briefings for senior executives across LSEG including by preparing biographies on politicians and policymakers and preparing background information on political and economic developments in specific countries.
    • Contribute to speeches for senior LSEG executives on political and economic topics connected with financial markets and the global economy.
    • Keep and update relevant statistics for speeches and briefings.
    • Provide ad hoc logistical and administrative support when needed to help deliver on GRRS priorities.
    • Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be requested and are commensurate with the post.

    Candidate Profile / Key Skills

    • A bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline.
    • Ideally a high-performing graduate or someone with not more than 1-2 years’ experience in public affairs/government relations, financial services or communications.
    • Exceptional written skills in English, as well as fluency in spoken English.
    • Highly proficient in the MS Office package, especially with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Previous experience in research and communications, experience in speech or report writing would be an advantage.
    • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good organisational skills with the ability to progress issues on a timely basis and prioritise work flows.
    • A team player approach to issues, flexibility, enthusiasm, imagination, diplomacy and a ‘can do’ attitude.
    • Ability to build relationships with colleagues working remotely and cross border.
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise time-sensitive deliverables.
    • Self-confidence and maturity to deal with senior internal and external stakeholders directly
    • Experience of and/or interest in Government, UK and international policymaking institutions, key industry bodies, think tanks and financial sector organisations, would be an advantage.
